Pappas Seafood House in Houston

I got the fried and stuffed shrimp and it was delicious. However, today was my second time getting the jambalaya, and both times its been way too salty. The jambalaya is full of meat and they give you a nice amount. The only reason I gave them four stars is because it was just too salty. Please cut back on the sodium.

I took 2 stars off for the price being about 10 dollars too high per dish. Then I added a star back for the customer service being exceptional. My wife and I both ordered the stuffed trout, but it wasn't really what we were expecting. I thought that it was still good, but my wife was not satisfied at all, so she told the server and the front and back house managers came out and helped her select a new dish based on what she was looking for. Then to make sure that we were satisfied, they comped us a free dessert. So if price isn't a big sticking point for you, this is probably a good option since the food is good and the service is great.

I hadn’t visited this place for few months based on many unpleasant experiences. I had a lunch finally again at this restaurant because I really missed their good food, and I am glad I did. There is a real change in the staff that lead to greater attitude, and friendly service. I was greeted by a friendly professional hostess ( finally!), and the waiter was super nice, friendly and professional. To be noted, that I hadn’t reach the customer service as they suggested in the comment on my previous review. My rate for this place is 5 stars for sure. Great food, tasty and fresh. We came around 11, by the time they open usually, and out food was ready within 20 minutes, and tasted great. It is kind of food that melts in your mouth.

Wow!! Just Wow! This place looks small and plain on the outside, but the inside is big and clean and beautiful! Food is just amazing! Variety... Choices of prep: grilled, fried or baked seafood. Creative and tasty dinner creations. Service is sharp and helpful. Oh! Save room for (or take home) dessert! You will love the presentation that you can't say no to.

This was a place recommended to us by another seafood restaurant on the water. I have to say, we were not disappointed. Service was great, along with the atmosphere and menu selection. I thought the basic menu style was creative alone. I would definitely come back here again.

The food is still delicious. But recently there have been a hug change in the amount of food you get. And it's less, not more. I paid $35 for a plate called Salmon with scallops and shrimp. The dish without scallops was cheaper, but I love scallops so ordered the plate. There was only ONE scallop on the plate. When I asked my server about it she sent a manager over who said that was correct. That dish only has ONE scallop. That's ridiculous.

I luv the Pappas chain but the fried catfish was a little underseasoned. I've had better for lower price. Cheesecake on point. Great customer service.

We were told it would take 10 minutes and we ended up waiting 25 minutes.. Other people came way after us and they got in first. A family of 7 came as we were going in and they got seated right after us.

Really an awesome place to go. The Lobster Bisque was incredible. The service was great and everyone there seemed to really be having a great time. The seafood was very delicious too. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves seafood and awesome service.

I visited here last week with my Fiance and I must say I had a wonderful experience.Ask for Toni he is amazing!! I had a large order of calimari It was sooo big deff enough to share with the family and very tasty.For our entrees I had Fried shrimp with some broccolini It was super fresh a really good!My Fiance had the Aged Ribeye with a baked potato and the added 2 lobster tails. We are a sharing family so We love to split everything down the middle!That being said this Steak was one of the best I have had. It was as smooth as butter and full of flavor!The reason I give only 4 stars is for the Lobster tails they were pretty nasty and mushy I was a bit disappointed about it but other than that the meal was great!Also thank you to the manager for stopping by and making sure we were having a great time.

The waitress and service here is friendly and impeccable! Seafood is fresh and staff knowledgeable! You get what you pay for! Great kids menu!

To start with the food and service was good. But very disappointed with your corporate offices. On a visit on a Monday afternoon about 4 pm, our truck was broken into. We asked the manager about the parking lot cameras, we were told that went through corporate office and they gave us the number to call. After notifying corporate we talked to Dee and she said she would look at the tape and call us right back. We never heard back from her. VERY DISAPPOINTED. Customers must not be very important. Our family has been long time customers of all of your restaurants so this even makes it worse

The red fish and lump crab is delicious, very nice place, I would recommend this place to everyone

Everything about my visit was wonderful. I met some people here for a business lunch meeting. Service was impeccable, atmosphere was very nice as well. The food was great. It can be a little on the pricey side, but definately worth it.

The shrimp poboy was great and the seafood gumbo was fantastic. Plenty of seafood in the gumbo. I will be back.

Traditional seafood cuisine with a splash of Cajun infusion. Well worth the money

The food is amazing! The wait wasn’t terrible, especially being Father’s Day. The staff was nice and friendly. Our waiter was great, very nice. Paul, I believe was him name. It was the first time me or my husband had be here. We will definitely be back!! Everything we ordered was just simply delicious and so full of flavor!

I had the rainbow trout with shrimp and crab meat, with a white creamy delicious sauce on top. It was so fresh, unbelievably delicious. My Bloody Mary was perfect and the service was fast and friendly. IfYou haven't been here yet...get on down there ASAP!

Server Toni M. was very attentive and polite. She noticed that our food order was wrong and immediately made it right. Her pleasant attitude made our dining experience great.

Good food on par with what you’d expect from Pappa’s. The grilled chicken salad is a lot smaller for what I’d expect. Glad I ordered some gumbo with it.

Haven't eaten there before but it was good. Very pricey, the staff was awesome but won't eat there again, I can find just as good of food for less money.

It's a diner and a good one. The food is delicious and the portions are very bigWe tried the Gumbo and the sea food platters. And everything we ordered was very tasty. They also have a great selection for desserts , wine and beer too. We were not very impressed with the cocktails though.Overall it was a great place to have dinner with the family and the staff was very helpful and cheerful.We were pleasantly surprised surprised when we asked fir the dessert menu and the server bought the actual one on plate.

The customer service was great, no waiting to be seated and social distancing was a plus. The food and drinks were good.

Wonderfully friendly wait staff with great dining advice, timely service and just plain kind. The food was so very good. Fresh shrimp cocktail served chilled on ice. My husband had rib eye with lobster tail, I went with a delicious seafood platter. My beverage was spot on, refreshing and highly drinkable, the purple voodoo. Even the bread and salad were amazing. The only defect my husband and I both noticed was the cold, somewhat disinterested front door hostess. We saw her for 10 seconds, and fortunately the wait staff quickly compensated for her, by being so attentive. Third time in a Pappas since the start of our relocation process to Texas, and we are already huge fans!

I have always loved Pappas Seafood but this take out experience was very disappointing. My crab patty did not taste fresh and it had more bread than the lump crab meat I'm accustomed to. I've always compared crab patties to Pappas because it was the best due to the majority of the patty being lump crab meat. I know Covid-19 has affected many businesses but please don't change the character, quality or good taste of your foods. You risk loosing customers especially if increased cost do not match quality of food.

It's our second time going here. Even though the restaurant was only at 50% capacity for dine in due to Covid19 social distancing, we didn't have to wait to be seated on a Friday night. We ordered crispy calamari/asparagus for appetizer. For main course we had pan grilled Costa Rican Mahi and pan grilled Rainbow Trout. Both have steamed green beans with Lemon butter. Appetizer was served within 10 minutes which was fast. They were good and crispy but a little bit salty. The marinara and chipotle ranch dipping sauce countered the saltiness. As for the Mahi mahi and Rainbow trout they were cooked perfectly tender and delicious. I wish they could have added a little bit of lemon butter sauce. We did enjoy our meal. Fyi the menus in this restaurant are only 1 page and that includes both lunch and dinner items. Not much to choose from for now. Can't wait to have everything back to normal. Lastly menu prices are on the moderate side.

We had an excellent dining experience there! For an appetizer, we tried the Spanish octopus (tasted similar to grilled scallops - a very mild, white protein)... also have yummy Australian lamb chops, and a Pappas salad with blue cheese dressing on the side... again, very nice. For the main entree, we had Branzino with mushrooms, etc - again a winning choice. Service was from a 'new guy' - and he served us very well keeping the drink glasses full, brought us warm crusty bread and whipped butter... all delicious.I really like Pappas desserts - but there was no 'room' left - so we passed this time. My usual favorites include the brownie with ice cream, key lime pie (it has an amazing graham cracker pecan crust on that pie) - and of course, the cheesecake.

Such a great meal. We had a group of 30, and the service was perfect. They did a great job at taking care of us. Great atmosphere!

I don't like the way the call in/curbside system works here. My food and the check were brought out at the same time. I had to wait 7 minutes with over $200 worth of hot food in my car for my payment to be processed.

Very clean, I definitely felt safe. Food was prompt and delicious. Our server was very friendly, as well as the other staff.

As always constructive delicious. I'm never disappointed.
